ECOSCOPE increases trainees’ problem-solving potential through real world experience in start-up environments. We offer four- to eight-month internships with local biotechnology companies. Emphasis is placed on exposing interns to start-up environments where they will work with the company to solve specific problems in environmental monitoring, metabolic engineering, or scale-up production.
Trainees are expected to conceive solutions that are practical, economical, and above all else, successful. Given the critical nature of some of the projects, trainees often work with company funders and CEOs. As a result, technical communication is an integral part of the internship experience and students are provided training and mentorship in these soft skills during the Seminar Series, as well as through mentorships with industry professionals.
